Inserted in the Barroso region, World Agricultural Patrimony, characterised by typical and delicious gastronomy, associates, in an irreprehensible way, the refinement of a cared and pleasant space.
In our restaurant, we have chosen to promote more organic agriculture, which, besides being more environmentally friendly, guarantees a high quality of the products while safeguarding the health of our customers.
This trend is a rational and sensitive method of using our resources, preserving local gastronomy, favouring subsistence and maintaining a people’s culture, and decreasing the carbon footprint.
Synthetic chemicals, pesticides, and genetically modified organisms are excluded, opting instead for traditional local farming methods such as incorporating suitable organic materials such as manure or dung into the soil, appropriate crops, and suitable crop rotation systems.
Thus, most of the products on our menu, such as potatoes, certain vegetables, mushrooms, veal (PDO), honey (PDO), pork products (GI) (cozido barrosão, ham, sausage, sausage and spicy sausage), goat, trout from the river Beça, bread from the Barroso (GI) and the Wine of the Dead are either produced/acquired locally or certified locally, Barroso kid, trout from the river Beça, Barroso bread (GI) and the Wine of the Dead are either produced/purchased locally or certified respecting, therefore, food standards, production and quality.
