The main objective of the project is to strengthen the business capacity of tourism operators in the region for the development of new products, services, and processes, giving coherence and consistency to the Tourism Strategy defined for the Region and that has guided the work of the 6 municipalities in recent years.
The tourism sector presents itself, today, to its operators with new demands, namely, the need to make available a multidisciplinary tourist offer that aggregates, in parallel, several tourist operators (responding, in this way, to the tourists’ current requirements), as well as the need of promotion, availability, and monitoring of the tourist offer and the tourist himself in the new digital and technological reality.
It’s based on these assumptions that arise the project “Alto Tâmega Turismo 4.0”, is a cooperation effort between entities of Alto Tâmega’s region which are focused on its development, the qualification of the touristic operators, and the direct intervenients in the sector, in the development and adaptation of the regional touristic products and, ultimately, in the development of the whole territory.
