TURISMO 4.0 | Road Show of Presentation of Alto Tâmega’s Tourism Strategic Plan has already started

Started yesterday, May 4, the Road Show Presentation of Alto Tâmega’s Tourism Strategic Plan, under the project “Tourism 4.0” with the first stop during the morning, in Ribeira de Pena, followed by Vila Pouca de Aguiar in the afternoon.

To present the Plan was present the First Executive Secretary of CIMAT, Ramiro Gonçalves and representatives of PENHAS – Consulting and Events. Ribeira de Pena was represented by the Mayor, João Noronha and Vila Pouca de Aguiar by the Mayor, Alberto Machado, and the Vice President, Ana Rita Dias, as well as the President of AECorgo, António Guedes.

The project Alto Tâmega – Tourism 4. 0 (NORTE-02-0853-FEDER-037651) is a joint initiative of the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Tâmega (CIMAT), the Centre for the Enhancement and Transfer of Water Technology (AquaValor) and the Business Association of Corgo (AECorgo) and aims to strengthen the business capacity of touristic operators of the region for the development of new products, services and processes, giving coherence and consistency to the Tourism Strategy defined for the Region and that has guided the work of the 6 municipalities in recent years.

“The objective is to present the project to the private sector, which mobilizes tourism in the region, and, on the other hand, to capacitate the sector so that it can materialize the great lines that are defined in the strategic plan. Capacity building is the main challenge of the region, always has been and always will be”, stated Ramiro Gonçalves.

The next presentation sessions will take place on May 9th in Boticas and Montalegre, and on May 11th in Valpaços and Chaves.

Concluded the road show of presentation of Alto Tâmega’s Tourism Strategic Plan, still during the month of May, will begin training workshops directed to the private sector of restoration, accommodation and tourism animation, which will travel through the six municipalities and will highlight the most important tourism products in each of these municipalities.
