Visit Alto Tâmega e Barroso

CIMAT highlights the region’s tourism, gastronomy, and cultural identity at the Sabores de Chaves Fair

The Intermunicipal Community of Alto Tâmega and Barroso (CIMAT) was once again present with its own stand at the Chaves Flavors Fair, which took place between January 30 and February 1, reaffirming its commitment to the integrated promotion of the territory, local products, and cultural identity of the region.

Throughout the three days of the event, the CIMAT stand served as a privileged space for promoting not only the municipality of Chaves, but also Boticas, Montalegre, Ribeira de Pena, Valpaços, and Vila Pouca de Aguiar, highlighting the gastronomic wealth, local products, and tourist potential of the Alto Tâmega and Barroso Territory to visitors, producers, and local agents.

CIMAT’s participation in this event is therefore part of the strategy to boost the region’s economy and tourism by promoting initiatives that raise the profile of the territory and bring the public closer to the authenticity of its flavors, traditions, and knowledge.

The official opening ceremony was attended by, among others, the Secretary of State for Forestry, Rui Ladeira, some of the mayors of the municipalities in the Territory, and the First Intermunicipal Executive Secretary, Ramiro Gonçalves.

The Chaves Flavors Fair, now in its 21st edition, is an important meeting point for producers, consumers, and entities, serving as a relevant showcase for regional cuisine and making a significant contribution to boosting the local economy and promoting Alto Tâmega and Barroso as a destination of excellence.
