April 15 to May 3 | A Journey Through Time: PTAT Hosts Exhibition of Antique Clocks
The Alto Tâmega and Barroso Tourism Office (PTAT) will host, from April 15 to May 3, an exhibition dedicated to the world of antique clocks, in an initiative developed in partnership with Casa dos Candeias – Museu Vivo.
Part of this institution’s collection, the exhibition presents a unique set of pieces that bear witness to how time has been measured, experienced, and valued throughout history. Featuring examples dating back to the 7th century, the exhibition spans different periods, styles, and mechanisms, highlighting not only the technical evolution of watchmaking but also its undeniable aesthetic and symbolic value.
The pieces, drawn from the Casa dos Candeias collection, reinforce the museum’s living character, bringing the public closer to a unique and deeply rooted heritage. Each clock on display carries fragments of memory, revealing the intimate relationship between human beings and time — between mechanical precision and artisanal craftsmanship.
PTAT, located on Alameda do Tabolado in Chaves, is open from Monday to Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We look forward to your visit!
