Alto Tâmega CIM represented in Conference on “Growth and Sustainability of Chaves and Alto Tâmega”
The Municipal Library of Chaves was the venue chosen to host the conference on “Growth and Sustainability of Chaves and Alto Tâmega”, last May 27. This was an initiative of the editorial group Vida Económica, with the support of the Municipality of Chaves.
Opening the session was the Mayor of Chaves, Nuno Vaz, who also presented the first panel entitled “The development challenges of Chaves and Alto Tâmega 2030”.
To speak about “The potential of the tourist offer of Chaves and Alto Tâmega” was present Ramiro Gonçalves, First Executive Secretary of the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Tâmega (CIMAT), who took the opportunity to, among several aspects, highlight the “key points” mentioned in the Strategic Plan of Tourism of Alto Tâmega, recently presented to tour operators in the region.
This document aims to strengthen the business capacity of tour operators of Alto Tâmega for the development of new products, services and processes, giving coherence and consistency to the tourism strategy defined for the region and that has guided the work of the six municipalities in recent years.
In addition to these themes, the conference program also included themes such as “Water as an opportunity for expansion of sustainable growth”, “Higher Education, vocational training and qualified employment” and “Opportunities for sustainable growth of the local economy”, with the intervention of several speakers from public institutions and the business sector of the city.
