The Church of S. Nicolau, with its religious, Mannerist and Baroque architecture, stands out for its unique dimensions, which celebrate the past importance of this town, the result of its antiquity (Middle Ages), its strategic location in the municipality and its agricultural wealth. This true ex-libris of Carrazedo de Montenegro brings together three churches in one. The original church dates back to the 11th century and was enlarged in 1571 and finished in 1577. The church underwent transformations that gave it its current appearance from 1746 to 1752.
