St Brás Fair
Ham, “orelheira”, “salpicão”, “‘fat meat”, wine and “folar” were some of the local products that were present at the oldest smoked meat fair in the country. São João de Corveira opened its doors to yet another Feira de S. Brás, which took place last weekend.
On 3 and 4 February, the village of São João da Corveira hosted the Feira de S. Brás, where the local population took the opportunity to sell “homemade and genuine” products that contribute to the family’s income.
At the Feira de S. Brás you can find products that are still made the old-fashioned way, derived from pork, but also producers from the municipality who participate with other quality products such as wine, honey, bolo podre, various types of bread, cheeses, dried fruit, liqueurs, among many other delicacies.
In addition to the sales stands, there’s entertainment with concertinas and traditional groups, as well as the “Chega de Bois”, and the party is guaranteed.
