12 Municipalities and the Regional Authority for Tourism of the North united in the promotion of National Road 103

Representatives of the 12 municipalities crossed by the National 103 (N103) and the President of the Tourism of Porto and North of Portugal (TPNP), Luís Pedro Martins, met this Tuesday, January 18, in Bragança, in order to implement a strategy to enhance and promote tourism of the N103.

Taking into account the tourist flow that the National 2 has been moving, as a result of all the dissemination and promotion of this road that crosses Portugal, from Chaves to Faro, it is now time to prepare a common strategy for the dissemination and consequent valuation of the N103, placing it on the international map of the most beautiful “Road Trips” in the world, and this meeting allowed to take an important step in that direction.

The N103 is 274 kilometres long and crosses the North of Portugal, from Neiva (Viana do Castelo) to the city of Bragança, passing through the municipalities of Barcelos, Boticas, Braga, Chaves, Esposende, Montalegre, Póvoa de Lanhoso, Valpaços, Vieira do Minho and Vinhais. It encompasses a set of unique territories, with unique characteristics at gastronomic, cultural, religious and archaeological level and that deserve to be recognised.

Luís Pedro Martins, TPNP’s President pointed that “the region wants to put on the international Road Trips map a set of roads that I consider to be among the most beautiful in the world. Today we have finally taken a very important step towards the structuring and future promotion of the N103, and it is a very happy day for the region”.
