
Wines from Alto Tâmega and Barroso continue to collect awards
Chaves and Valpaços are the two municipalities in the Alto Tâmega e Barroso region that saw some of their wines distinguished in the 10th edition of the Wines of Portugal Competition, a revelation that took place last Friday, May 12th, in Pinhel.

This initiative distinguished, for the 10th consecutive year, the best national wines for their unique quality, guiding and motivating producers to launch differentiating wines that contribute to position Portugal as a reference producer in export markets.
Among the winners, five belong to the municipality of Valpaços and four to the municipality of Chaves:

The wines distinguished with the Grand Gold and Gold medals will have guaranteed presence in international events of excellence to be held later this year, a form of international promotion for Portuguese producers.
The Wines of Portugal Competition is one of the sector’s barometer events since it recognizes the unique quality of national wines and promotes experiences and synergies among producers, national and international specialists during one week. At the same time, it reinforces the excellent position of Portuguese production in export markets.
