TOURISM 4.0 | Webinars of presentation of the proposals of new touristic products to Alto Tâmega e Barroso with more than 80 participants
In the past 12 and 14 December took place the last two webinars of the Creative Labs, in the scope of Alto Tâmega – Tourism 4.0 project, where were discussed and presented the proposals of new tourist experiences and products for Alto Tâmega e Barroso, worked in the 12 presential sessions of the Creative Labs.
These two last webinars, which summed more than 80 participants, had the purpose to discuss, present and evaluate the preliminary proposals resulting from the sessions of the Creative Labs, as well as to present the proposal of the final model of the Operational Plan of Touristic Development for Alto Tâmega e Barroso, with the inclusion of the new products conceived in the Creative Labs.
The 12 presencial sessions of the Creative Laboratories were developed in the six municipalities that compose the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Tâmega e Barroso (CIMAT) – Boticas, Chaves, Montalegre, Ribeira de Pena, Valpaços e Vila Pouca de Aguiar – with two sessions per municipality, under six thematic defined in the Tourism Strategic Plan for Alto Tâmega e Barroso, with eight moderators and more than 175 participations.
From the work developed in the sessions of the Creative Laboratories resulted 44 proposals of touristic experiences, passive to integrate the new touristic products to the Alto Tâmega e Barroso region, integrated in the different thematic. To wit:
– 10 proposals – “Mountains and Rivers”.
– 5 proposals – “History and Art
– 5 proposals – “Thermal Spa
– 8 proposals – “Gastronomy, Waters and Wines
– 9 proposals – “Villages and Traditions
– 7 proposals – “Sport and Adventure”.
The proposal of the final model of the Operational Plan of Touristic Development for Alto Tâmega e Barroso was presented by Fernando Completo, from Upstream Portugal, and aimed the structuring of these experiences conceived in the Creative Laboratories, in projects of touristic products based on four main axes: “The Castreja Culture”, “The Roman World”, “Waterways” and “Popular Culture, Traditions and Vernacular Architecture”, complemented with events such as: “Music Festivals and Traditions”, “Biennial Land and Forest Art” and “Sports and Leisure”.
Also present in the webinar of presentation of the proposal of the final model of the Operational Plan of Touristic Development for Alto Tâmega e Barroso was Ramiro Gonçalves, First Executive Secretary of CIMAT, who took the opportunity to thank the mobilization and dedication of the various touristic operators and interlocutors of the region and request the Upstream Portugal team to continue the excellent work they have been doing so that in the first quarter of 2023 it will be possible to present the results of these Creative Labs, in a more consolidated way, in the Tourism Forum that will be held.
“Time is now needed to consolidate all this work and think how it can be better structured. The work will continue and all the work that has already been done has come at the right time as it is necessary to design what we want to do in the next 7 years for tourism and so it can be financed by community funds. We are going to continue this work until March, when we will make the Tourism Forum and where we will present the fruits of this project in a more structured and consolidated way”, added Ramiro Gonçalves.
