Two of the Thirteen Milestones (between Braga and Chaves) in Valpaços

Milestones, classified as IIP, used to count distance and Romanisation, made up of cylindrical monoliths, epigraphed, from iter XVII of the Via Augusta. The milestone of the emperors Macrino and Deadumeniano is located in Largo do Mercado, next to another found nearby which, according to Argote, was identified next to the Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
The inscription is still in good condition. This inscription allows us to date the installation of the milestone to 217 AD.
