Santuário de Nossa Senhora da Saúde

This beautiful sanctuary is in honour of Nossa Senhora da Saúde, with a breathtaking view over the of Valpaços highlands. It is a sanctuary of devotion where you can also attend mass. The festival in honour of Nossa Senhora da Saúde was an initiative of the Progressive Party of Valpaços, in 1897, the year in which some senior figures of that Party and of the municipality decided to create the Brotherhood of Nossa Senhora da Saúde and the construction of the Chapel which began on 8th August of the same year, being ready the following year.
