Santa Valha Church

The parish church of Santa Valha was built in 1657 (17th century) at the expense of Father Nuno Álvares, the first abbot of the Royal Patronage of Santa Valha Abbey.
The façade features an oculus flanked by two coat-of-arms stones. The interior has a single nave with a wooden ceiling. Highlights include the eighteenth-century paintings in the chancel, the carving of the high altar and the two side altars, two oil paintings on wood, a chalice-custody dating from 1690 and an eighteenth-century chalice.
