Santa Maria de Covas do Barroso Parish Church

Inspired by Romanesque architecture, this church is surrounded by a churchyard with a longitudinal floor plan. Inside we can see a single nave, paved with granite slabs, covered with painted coffered ceilings and with 18th-century mural paintings on the walls.
It is also possible to contemplate the image of the patron saint – Santa Maria – which is carved in the Gothic style in ançã stone, as well as the statue of D. Afonso Anes Barroso, squire of D. Afonso I, Duke of Bragança.
