Rock Sanctuary of Argeriz or “Pias dos Mouros”

A cave sanctuary made up of two rectangular tanks carved out of the surface of an extensive granite rock that is not very pronounced from the ground surface. Classified as an IIP since 1984, it was probably built during the Roman period. At the top, there are two rectangular cavities in parallel, flanked by two sets of steps, which have some carvings that could be the foundations of a wooden structure. There are two inscriptions reading “APADAV”.
