Castro do Outeiro de Lesenho

The Outeiro Lesenho fort was built during the 2nd Iron Age it is the largest Portuguese fort (Castro). It dominates the surrounding landscape and you can see all the fortified settlements of the region from it.

It has a complex defensive system composed of three walls and an internal line of walls where several houses have been identified as being predominantly circular. The four granite statues of Gallic Warriors stand out and are the ex-libris of national archaeology.
