Visit Alto Tâmega e Barroso

Vila Pouca de Aguiar

Presence of the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Tâmega e Barroso in BTL 2023 was a success

The Intermunicipal Community of Alto Tâmega e Barroso (CIMAT) marked one more year presence in that which is the largest Portuguese tourist exhibition – Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa (BTL) which took place between 1 and 5 March, in Parque das Nações, in Lisbon.

The presence of CIMAT in this event counted with the participation and collaboration of all the municipalities of the region (Boticas, Chaves, Montalegre, Ribeira de Pena, Valpaços and Vila Pouca de Aguiar) carrying out a program of activities aiming the promotion and dissemination of a set of touristic potentialities of the territory, namely, of its endogenous products with several tasting, among the thousands of visitors of the fair.

The feedback received was very positive, particularly with regard to the new CIMAT stand that stood out among the other stands in the pavilion and served as a magnet for the various presentations of events/activities and products, followed by tasting sessions.

Beyond these moments, it was also possible to divulge the various points of special touristic interest of the region through the technological equipment acquired for the effect (infopoint and televisions), as well as through the new touristic guides of Alto Tâmega e Barroso region for each of the seven touristic products identified in the Strategic Plan of Tourism of the territory: History and Art, Mountains and Rivers, Villages and Traditions, Landscape Roads, Thermal Spa and SPA, Sports and Adventure and Gastronomy, Water and Wines.

CIMAT’s presence at the BTL is an opportunity to make the region known to an increasingly wide and diverse public, reinforcing its position as a tourist destination. The participation in the fair is also a way to promote the cooperation between the municipalities of the region, creating synergies and joint strategies for the promotion of tourism in the region of Alto Tâmega and Barroso.

Beyond the presence of the tourism technicians of the municipalities and CIMAT, also were present the autarchs of the six municipalities (presidents, vice-presidents and town councillors), as well as the Executive Secretariat of CIMAT, composed by Ramiro Gonçalves and José Alberto Diegas.
