Five Star Regions Award: Alto Tâmega e Barroso adds three more distinctions
Boticas Parque – Nature and Biodiversity, Termas de Chaves and Feira do Fumeiro de Montalegre were the 2024 recipients of the “Five Star Regions” Award in the Alto Tâmega e Barroso Region.
Boticas Parque – Nature and Biodiversity was distinguished in the “Nature Tourism” category, Termas de Chaves was distinguished in the “Thermal Baths” category and the Montalegre Smoked Meat Fair in the “Festivals, Fairs and Pilgrimages” category.
According to the organization, the “Five Star Regions” Award is an evaluation system that measures the degree of satisfaction that products, services and brands of Portuguese origin give to their users, using as evaluation criteria the five main variables that influence consumers’ purchasing decisions. In this way, the aim is to give visibility to these brands which, due to their typology, are characterized by offering a very close service, something so valued by everyone.
The winners were chosen following a national survey, with direct nominations made by the population, thus identifying the most relevant national icons in terms of the following themes: cultural elements; natural resources, monuments and heritage; villages, towns and cities; gastronomy; and natural and typical products.
In this seventh edition of the “Five Star Regions” Award, ten distinctions were awarded in the Vila Real district.
