Montalegre | 18th Carrilheiras do Barroso

The Carrilheiras de Barroso are back on 24 and 25 May. This is a landmark event in the promotion of the natural and cultural heritage of the Municipality of Montalegre. Two days of pure contact with nature where participants can enjoy walking routes, get in touch with the fabulous local biodiversity and learn about the customs and traditions of the villages in the Barroso territory.
On the first day, the suggestion is to walk through the ‘Faldas do Larouco’ in Santo André. On the last day, the suggestion is to take a Literary Walk, remembering the work of the illustrious Barrosão writer Bento da Cruz. As part of the centenary of his birth, we’ll remember some of his works on a trail between Montalegre and Peirezes, his birthplace.
