Chaves | The Lord of the Porto – Festival Entre Curtas
Animation
O Senhor do Porto He was born and grew up in Porto, right in the centre, against what remains of the Fernandina wall, in 1937.
He heard about the First World War and has brief memories of the Second. He saw Porto united for democracy. You’ve seen the construction of the last four bridges (you won’t see the fifth any more). You’ve seen Porto recognised as a World Heritage Site and the Cultural Capital of Europe. He saw the much-acclaimed tourists arrive. You’ve seen yourself alone. He saw abandoned houses. You’ve seen houses turned into hotels. You saw a different neighbourhood. He saw a Porto he had never seen before. Today he wants to live the Porto he saw and put the Porto he sees in his memory.
