Chaves | Presentation of the book ‘Nada Muda Tudo’ (Nothing Changes Everything)
J.B. César’s latest book, entitled ‘Nada Muda Tudo’, will be presented in Chaves on 2 November at the Museu da Região Flaviense, at 16h00.
According to professor and writer Manuel António Araújo, who will present the work, ‘the antithesis present in the title of this novel can be considered a summary of the diegetic core of the work. Belief and disbelief, the spiritual and the temporal, the esoteric and the lapidary’.
The narrator invites the reader to enjoy the esoteric path of the vials that illuminate the souls of the foolish and the blessed, giving them the eschatological nothingness they contain. Opposition between faith and rationality, between seriousness and pantomime, between greed and poverty, up to the promiscuity of religion with money’.
J. B. César was born in 1955 in Chaves. He was the founder and director of Antena Radiante radio, Jornal de Chaves and Semanário Transmontano. As a professional journalist, he was a contributor to ‘Jornal de Notícias’, ‘Comércio do Porto’ and the daily ‘La Región’, from Ourense (Galicia). In 2013 he published his first novel, ‘Claro que não, antes pelo contrário’. In 2018, he won the Bento da Cruz Literary Prize for ‘It costs the truth to give up steaks’.
