Chaves | “Nove Aldeias, Um Povo”

‘Nine Villages, One People’ opens its second phase next Friday, September 6, at 9.30pm, in the Auditorium of the Chaves Cultural Centre. This first concert will feature the Philharmonic Band and the Community Choir performing original compositions.

The project is the result of joint work between the Banda Musical de Loivos, the ‘9A1P’ Community Choir and guest composers, presenting the work that has been developed since 2023, in six concerts that have already been scheduled.

It aims to foster unity between nine villages in the Alto Tâmega region through music, culture and community cohesion, giving local musical talent the opportunity to stand out while promoting the identity and traditions of the people through the presentation of six original works inspired by each of the participating parishes.

It should be noted that the project also includes rehearsals open to the community, which will take place over the next two weeks in Bornes de Aguiar, Vilar de Nantes, Oura, Sabroso and Loivos, and an open rehearsal has already taken place in Vidago.
