Chaves | Aquae Flaviae Magazine no. 68

The Aquae Flaviae magazine is currently the largest source of knowledge about the region’s identity, heritage and traditions, with the aim of revealing and publicising the experiences of Alto Tâmega. Its latest edition will be presented to the public on 12 September at 5.30pm in the Multipurpose Room of the Chaves Municipal Library.

Issue No. 68 of the Aquae Flaviae Cultural Group is made up of themed stories about the castles of Monforte de Rio Livre and Montalegre, the notable Transmontanos Bento da Cruz and Abade de Baçal and, as the main star, the commemoration of the 5th centenary of the birth of Luís de Camões, the world’s greatest Portuguese epic poet.

This work includes a wide range of studies on the region’s heritage, nature and history, with the mission of revealing and publicising the experiences and emblematic spaces of Alto Tâmega.
