Montalegre | 11th Barrosão Week

Salto once again establishes itself as one of the major venues for promoting the Barrosã breed, livestock farming and the municipality’s traditions, with the 11th edition of Barrosão Week taking place from 24 to 26 July.

Over the course of three days, the programme includes the Native Breeds Exhibition, the livestock competition, cattle parades, cookery demonstrations, musical entertainment, bull-running, a bullfight with young bulls, a charity walk, a tractor parade, a horse ride and various initiatives celebrating the rural identity and heritage of Barroso. An initiative that recognises the work of local producers, promotes local produce and preserves the traditions that form part of our region’s identity.
