4th Meeting of Janeiras Singers

The streets of the city’s historic centre will serve as the backdrop for the “4th Meeting of Janeiras Singers”, an event that aims to keep this centuries-old tradition alive and celebrate with enthusiasm and joy the arrival of the new year.

The initiative will begin at 2.30pm in Praça de Camões, where the participating groups will gather and, from 3pm, the groups will sing “janeiras” to the people of Flavi in the most emblematic streets of the city of Chaves. At 16h00, a show open to the community will begin in Largo General Silveira and will end at 19h00.

The event will see 10 singing groups from the region perform simultaneously, bringing together 170 performers in a street show that promises to liven up the city on Saturday afternoon.
