Visit Alto Tâmega e Barroso

ArtFest spread culture throughout the region of Alto Tâmega e Barroso

The Alto Tâmega e Barroso region counted, over the weekend, with six cultural shows provided by the Alto Tâmega ArtFest project, developed by the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Tâmega e Barroso (CIMAT).

The weekend of shows was started on Friday, 9th December, by the artist Maike Calvão, who performed in the School Museum in Ribeira de Pena. The evening of the same day belonged to Animódia, Arte e Cultura, which took the play “Lazarinho’s Christmas” to the stage of the auditorium of the Cultural Centre of Chaves.

On Saturday there were four shows performed in the scope of this project: Teatro Experimental Flaviense presented, in the auditorium of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Vila Pouca de Aguiar, the play “Choices of the Past”; on that same day the dance school Christine Veen had a full house at the Luís Teixeira Art and Culture auditorium, in Valpaços; Animódia, Art and Culture performed again, this time in the municipal auditorium of Montalegre; and, to close the weekend in beauty, the performance of the Mozart Academy of Music and Ballet in the auditorium of the Cultural Centre of Chaves.

It should be remembered that the ArtFest Project (NORTE-04-2114-FEDER-000455) has as its general objective the promotion and touristic valorisation of the cultural heritage of the territory.

For that, presents a programme of network culture involving the six municipalities of Alto Tâmega and Barroso (Boticas, Chaves, Montalegre, Ribeira de Pena, Valpaços and Vila Pouca de Aguiar), promoting the animation of cultural spaces (auditoriums, theatres, multipurpose rooms, multipurpose rooms and other enclosures of shows), as well as the municipal museums and museological spaces.
