10 to 17 September | Harvest Festival comes to life at PTAT with exhibition of agricultural tools
Between 10 and 17 September, the Alto Tâmega and Barroso Tourist Office (PTAT) will host the exhibition ‘Agricultural Artefacts’, an initiative that is part of the promotion of the traditional Harvest Festival of Covas do Barroso, in the municipality of Boticas.
Developed in partnership with the Celtiberus Environmental and Cultural Association and Boticas Parque – Nature and Biodiversity, the exhibition aims to introduce visitors to the tangible and intangible heritage of the parish of Covas do Barroso, through the presentation of agricultural tools used in harvests of yesteryear.
The initiative will also be an opportunity to publicise the ‘Harvest Festival’ walking programme, which will take place on 4 October and includes activities such as threshing, traditional games, a market selling local products, popular music, folklore, a visit to the rural museum and a hearty snack, bringing together the community and visitors in a convivial atmosphere of sharing.
The PTAT, located on Alameda do Tabolado in Chaves, is open Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Come and visit us!
