Santo Aleixo de Além Tâmega Village

Santo Aleixo de Além Tâmega is located in the fertile valley of the river Tâmega. History says that, for many years, the village was isolated from Salvador, headquarters of the parish, by the rise of the waters of the Tamega.
The communication problem was only solved with the construction of the Wire Bridge in 1913, is today one of the must-visit tourist attraction points.
