Pillory of Cerva
por pessoa
It is a landmark that preserves the autonomy of the former municipality of Cerva, made up of the parishes of Cerva, Limões and Alvadia. It is a simple granite pillory with a typology that integrates it into the pine cone pillories. It has a cube-shaped base on which rests a flat octagonal column with a bocel. The base bears the inscription ‘1617 ANOS’, indicating that it was probably built or rebuilt more than a hundred years after Manuel I granted it a charter in 1514.
