Lesenho Hillfort

The Lesenho hillfort is located in the highest part of the parish of Canedo, making it possible to identify the natural contrasts between Alvão, Barroso and Minho. This settlement still has visible traces of its five wall lines, two of which surround it. It was probably occupied in the Copper Age, around 5,000 years ago, and was a large settlement in the Iron Age, around 3,000 years ago, and is known to have been occupied in Roman times.
