Galician Warrior – Replica
por pessoa
Sculpted anthropomorphic monolith, erect and in a standing position. Found, along with another similar specimen, probably in the 18th century (with two more acephalous statues later found in the 20th century) in the great fort of Lesenho.
It is the greatest example of national archaeology and represents the image of divinity and the warrior character of the Castro civilisations that inhabited this region. The four statues are currently in Lisbon, at the National Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology.
