Vila Pouca de Aguiar | Magos da Guitarra Festival
There’s less than a month to go until Portugal’s biggest guitar festival – Magos da Guitarra – passes through Vila Pouca de Aguiar.
In its fourth edition, the Magos da Guitarra International Festival will take place between 28 February and 30 March in 12 locations in the Trás-os-Montes and Douro region.
In Vila Pouca de Aguiar, the concert by Trevor Gordon Hall (USA) will take place on 1 March at 9.30pm in the Santa Casa da Misericórdia auditorium. Trevor was considered one of the best young guitarists in the world by Acoustic Guitar magazine. This American creates compositions that can range from more nervous rhythms to melodic and softer tunes, and he distinguishes himself by exploring literally every part of the guitar.
On 29 March at 9.30pm in the auditorium of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia, it will be the turn of Gaëlle Solal (France) to present herself to the public of Aguiar. Born into a music-loving family, Gaëlle Solal entered the world of guitar from an early age and has performed at prestigious venues in over forty countries. More attached to freedom than dogma, she moves seamlessly from Bach to the Beatles, from contemporary to baroque music.
The Festival is produced by De Mi Para Si, the cultural promoter who created this Festival, which combines all the characteristics and specificities of a new world of the guitar. Trás-os-Montes and Douro continues to be the favoured geographical area where Magos da Guitarra takes place. The festival reinforces its identity with the motto ‘a festival for a territory’.
