Valpaços | Discovering Gunpowder

The exhibition ‘Discovering Gunpowder’ opens next Sunday, 10 May, at 4 pm, at the Vilarandelo Parish Council.

The exhibition takes its cue from the explosion that occurred in 1991 at the Charrua family’s pyrotechnics factory—a landmark event in the region—and offers an artistic exploration of the local area.

It brings together works of painting, music and writing, spread across three venues, and is the result of the 2nd edition of the Moinho Residency, which brought together young artists from 3 to 10 May to promote creativity outside major urban centres, involving young people from the fields of Visual Arts, Music and Literature in a creative process in direct contact with the Valpaçós region.
