Montalegre | Rallyx Global Fina
Spanish driver Dani Sordo, one of the leading names in the World Rally Championship (WRC), is set to make his official rallycross debut at the RallyX Global Final, which takes place from 23 to 25 October at the Montalegre International Circuit. With three WRC victories and a career spanning more than two decades at the very highest level, Dani Sordo arrives in Montalegre to take on a new challenge at the wheel of an FC1 Hypercar, a 100 per cent electric vehicle with 1,100 cv of power, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.4 seconds. “Making my rallycross debut in Montalegre makes it all the more special, as it’s a track I know well and which usually attracts thousands of Spanish and Portuguese fans,” said the Spanish driver.
The competition brings together some of the best European and North American drivers, who will be competing for the ‘Champions’ Final’ titles across eight categories, in a programme featuring around 55 races over the weekend. Among the most eagerly awaited moments is the first night-time race in the history of the Montalegre International Circuit, taking place on Saturday 24 October, with races held under floodlights.
This international event promises to attract thousands of fans to the municipality and further cement Montalegre’s reputation as a leading destination on the global rallycross scene.
