The António Torrado Theatre Workshop is back with another production!

This academic year’s class presents the play “Lysistrata”.

Original text by Aristophanes, adapted and directed by Alexandra Grilo.

SYNOPSIS:

Tired of a war that has lasted twenty years, the women of the Greek cities, led by the Athenian Lysistrata, decide to force peace through a daring strategy: a sex strike. To ensure the plan’s success, they also occupy the Acropolis and take control of the public treasury, cutting off military funding. Amid comical situations and the desperate resistance of their husbands, the pressure becomes unbearable, leading the men to lay down their arms and sign a peace treaty to restore harmony to their homes.
