The Barroso Ecomuseum is hosting an exhibition by Amélia Santos dedicated to the memories and dreams of Barroso.
Barroso’s art and identity come together in the exhibition “Barroso: Memories and Dreams”, by Barroso-born artist Amélia Santos, which will be on display at the Corte do Boi, in Pitões das Júnias, from 17 October 2026 to 12 January 2027.
The Barroso Ecomuseum invites the public to discover this exhibition, which celebrates Amélia Santos’s artistic perspective on the Barroso region, its memories and the dreams that continue to breathe life into this area.
Housed at the Pitões das Júnias site, in the iconic Corte do Boi, the exhibition takes on special significance as it is set within a space where the identity and traditions of Barroso are very much alive, particularly through the agricultural tools that evoke daily life, knowledge and customs of times gone by.
