Chaves | Exhibition showcases Barro Preto pottery from Vilar de Nantes

Between 21 February and 9 March, the Alto Tâmega and Barroso Tourist Office (PTAT) will host an exhibition dedicated to Barro Preto de Vilar de Nantes, in an initiative promoted in partnership with the Vilar de Nantes Development Association.

The main objective of this exhibition is to enhance and promote this important artisanal heritage of the region, highlighting its historical, cultural and identity relevance, as well as the traditional know-how associated with it, which has been passed down through generations.

Barro Preto de Vilar de Nantes is one of the most emblematic expressions of local identity, representing not only a craft activity, but also a cultural legacy that must be preserved and disseminated.

This exhibition at the PTAT is an excellent opportunity to showcase the richness of the region’s traditions to visitors and the community, reinforcing our commitment to promoting and valuing our local heritage.

The PTAT, located on Alameda do Tabolado, is open Monday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. We look forward to your visit!
