The city of Chaves will once again experience the magic of the Christmas season, starting on Sunday 1st and running until 31st December, with a vast programme that promises to liven up this festive season.
This year’s fifth edition of the Christmas Market includes a great novelty. The ice rink, installed in Largo General Silveira, promises to entertain kids and adults alike, who will be able to enjoy the opportunity to show off or perfect their skating skills in a stunning setting.
At the Christmas Market, set up in the same space, visitors will be able to buy handicrafts, sweets, liqueurs, jams and other traditional products for their family and friends.
The opening is scheduled for 5pm on 1 December, when more than 350 people will take part in a procession from the Roman Bridge to the ‘Nuns’ Square’, as it is popularly known. The evening promises to enchant the people of Flavi and will culminate with the switching on of the lights and the Christmas tree at 6pm.
With the support of Turismo de Portugal, IP, the Mercadinho can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 15h00 to 20h00, and at weekends, from 11h00 to 13h00 and 14h00 to 23h00. On 24 and 31 December, it is open from 11.00 to 13.00 and 14.00 to 16.00. It will be closed on 25 December.
