Chaves | 9th Chaves Literature Festival (FLIC)
Under the motto ‘All art is a form of literature’, inspired by Fernando Pessoa, the 9th Chaves Literature Festival (FLIC) begins today with a series of activities taking place in Chaves, Vidago and Vilarelho da Raia.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Chaves, Via XVII – Arts and Letters Group and Rotary Senior University of Chaves, in collaboration with the Municipality, under the Cultural Development Collaboration Protocol, FLIC offers a diverse programme that includes thematic round tables, book presentations, artistic interventions and literary training.
The event will be attended by authors, researchers, musicians and artists who will reflect on the role of literature in contemporary society, the link between culture and local development, and new paths for artistic creation.
Highlights of the programme include the Integrated Training Course in Literature, thematic round tables in various schools and institutions, and musical performances that will enliven the evenings at FLIC.
This year’s edition also reinforces cooperation with school groups, bringing literature and the arts to hundreds of students in the municipality.
The closing ceremony of this edition will take place on 22 November in Vilarelho da Raia, with the theme ‘Caminhos de Santiago e caminhos do futuro’ (The Way of St James and the paths of the future), symbolising the sharing and dialogue that the cultural initiative has been promoting for almost a decade.
