Cerva Mining Sites Walk
As part of the celebrations for the International Day of Monuments and Sites and the Mining Route Partners’ Week, the Municipality of Ribeira de Pena is organising a walk through the Mining Sites of Cerva, to be held on April 13 (Sunday).
The walk will start at the Wolfram Museum in Cerva at 9am, offering a unique opportunity to explore the region’s mining heritage.
Along the way, there will be a guided tour, providing an immersion in the history of mining in the region, where curiosities about the time when the mines were actively exploited will be shared, highlighting the impact of tungsten extraction on the local community and the working conditions of the miners.
Registration for the walk can be done in person at the Museums, at the Town Hall or at Casa da Torre. You can also register online by filling in the Google Form link below. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and footwear for the route, as well as bringing water and food.
Join us on this fascinating walk through the Cerva Mining Sites and discover the unique history of the old mines.
