Aquae Brunheiro Trail

Entries open for the ‘Aquae Brunheiro Trail’, a trail running adventure on 22 September in Chaves
On 22 September, Chaves will host the biggest trail running adventure, the ‘Aquae Brunheiro Trail’, with the Serra do Brunheiro as the main stage. Beginning in the village of Vilar de Nantes and ending in the city of Chaves, this sporting event will end in celebration, with a lively lunch in the Public Garden. The initiative is organised by the Lobos do Brunheiro de Chaves team, in partnership with the Municipality of Chaves, under the Sports Development Collaboration Protocol.

On the competitive side, the race is divided into Mini Trail (12 km, 454m D+), Short Trail (20 km, 1056m D+) and Long Trail (30 km, 1681m D+). The Aquae Brunheiro Trail scores points for the Vila Real Athletics Association’s regional trail circuit, in both the Short and Long sections, which further encourages competition.

The event also features a 12-kilometre walk. Children will be able to take part in the Kids Trail on 21 September, the day before the event.
