Our Lady of Loreto Chapel / Santa Cabeça Chapel

Founded in 1696 (17th century) by the Abbot of Monforte, João de Prada, who instituted the respective Morgadio and in which the relics of St Boniface the Martyr were deposited. This chapel is an example of Mannerist religious architecture. Given the structural complexity of both the interior and exterior, its maintenance is a constant challenge. Main façade with pilasters in the Corinthian style. Lintelled portal surmounted by an interrupted pediment.
