Our Lady of Brotas Chapel

Located inside the Fort of São Neutel, the festivities in honour of the patron saint Nossa Senhora das Brotas are held here every spring, keeping a centuries-old religious tradition alive.

A small 17th-century chapel with a simple longitudinal plan and a single interior space covered with a false vault and natural side lighting. The space is unique for its construction details and careful ornamentation. With granite ashlar façades, the interior has a holy water font flanking the portal and a carved altarpiece, the central cartouche painted on the ceiling in the rococo style.
