Lamelas’ threshing floor
por pessoa
The Eira de Lamelas is a large rock in a flat area of the Lamelas pine forest, full of symbols carved into the rock. These rock engravings, made up of crosses and geometric shapes, were carved at different times since the Neolithic period and give this place a mystical and religious significance. The symbols take us back to the cult of the sun and stars associated with pre-Christian agrarian cults, at a time when man began to practise agriculture and developed a cult linked to fertility.
