The National Road 2 ( N2 ) is the longest Portuguese road. It runs down the country from north to south, connecting the city of Chaves, in Trás-os-Montes, to Faro, in the Algarve.
It began with the 1945 Estado Novo (Second Republic) Road Plan and is 739 km long.
