Cávado River (Cávado River Park)

This Portuguese river rises in the Serra do Larouco, at Fonte da Pipa, at an altitude of around 1520 metres. From its source to its mouth it runs for 135 kilometres, passing through the municipalities of Montalegre, Terras de Bouro, Vieira do Minho, Amares, Póvoa de Lanhoso, Vila Verde, Braga, Barcelos and Esposende, where it flows into the Atlantic Ocean. In Montalegre, the banks of the Cávado River are lined with modern and pleasant leisure areas. The changing rooms, bar and picnic area make the visit very pleasant and complete.
