Eurocidade Chaves-Verín Trans Iberian Water Rally

The Rali da Água Transibérico Eurocidade Chaves-Verín, part of the Portuguese Rally Championship (CPR) calendar, takes place on 13 and 14 September, organised by CAMI Motorsport and with the important support of the municipalities of Chaves and Verín (Galicia, Spain), as well as Escuderia de Ourense.

With the leadership of the championship in the balance – mathematically, only Armindo Araújo, the current leader, and Kris Meeke can reach the title – the only event that jumps borders takes on greater importance and impact on the final accounts of the CPR.

This year, the Eurocidade Chaves-Verín Transibérico Water Rally starts in the Galician city, a clear demonstration of the consolidation of the only internationalisation project for a rally on the Portuguese motorsport scene. The partnership between CAMI Motorsport and Escuderia de Ourense and the commitment of the municipalities of Chaves and Verín, which are backing this event, have contributed greatly to this.

The route, considered by many drivers to be one of the best tarmac rallies in the championship, is being carefully prepared. The public will have the opportunity to see some great spectacles, in complete safety, and with the chance to get up close and personal with the drivers.

The Eurocidade Chaves-Verín Trans Iberian Water Rally will have strong cross-border promotion. Its geographical location – proximity to the Autonomous Community of Galicia – and the Agua brand are assets that the event itself will enhance, with an impact on the regional, national and neighbouring country media, as well as Portuguese and Galician motorsport fans.
