Chaves | Craft traditions return with the ‘Basketry Exhibition’ at PTAT
From 1 to 13 October, the Alto Tâmega and Barroso Tourist Office (PTAT) will open its doors to the ‘Basketry Exhibition’, an initiative developed in partnership with the Vilar de Nantes Development Association (ADVN).
The exhibition aims to pay tribute to popular culture and master craftsmen, highlighting the richness of traditional basketry techniques that, over the centuries, have marked the identity and cultural diversity of the region. This will be an opportunity for visitors and the local community to relive memories, discover the beauty of manual work and reflect on the importance of preserving intangible heritage.
The PTAT is open Monday to Sunday, from 10h00 am to 6h00 pm
