Description
Tourism is one of the critical sectors for national development and the Alto Tâmega region is another example of this. The central objective of the project is to strengthen the business capacity of the region’s tourism operators for the development of new products, services and processes, stimulating them to develop sustainable and innovative management practices, in their environmental, social and economic dimensions, with special focus on activities framed within the areas of intelligent specialization – RIS3 of the North Region. The project aims to stimulate these entities to develop collaborative and in partnership innovative activities and projects, with a view to developing new goods and services that lead to an increase in competitiveness and value creation capacity, promoting smart and sustainable growth. This project is aligned with the development strategies for low density territories, with a special focus on supporting SMEs in order to increase competitiveness gains based on the territory’s endogenous resources. As Tourism is one of the critical sectors for the development of Alto Tâmega, this project aims: a) Empowering tour operators to respond to the future challenges of Tourism always in permanent alignment with the regional strategy for the sector; b) Readjust the visitaltotamega.com platform; and c) To leverage the results achieved by the previous objectives by holding a major international Forum.
